The Bantam novice eight finished .82 seconds faster than second-place Williams in its grand final, while the Bantam varsity eight posted the fastest time of any boat in the preliminary heats (5:57.536), but just over two seconds behind Bates and just under five seconds later than Williams in the grand final at 6:00.977. The Trinity College women’s rowing team finished fifth in the NCAA Division III Championship Regatta on New Jersey’s Lake Mercer in late May. Trinity used strong performances in both repechage races to put its first- and second-varsity eight crews in the grand finals and finished sixth and fourth, respectively, in those races. The Bantams, coached by Wesley Ng, had finished fifth in the varsity-eight grand final at the ECAC National Invitational Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond earlier that month to qualify for the NCAA Regatta for the 10th straight season. The Bantam second- and third-varsity eight crews each recorded third-place ECAC fi nishes, while the squad tied with New Hampshire for fifth place in the Overall Points Trophy Standings, and the Bantams took second in the Men’s and Women’s Overall Points Trophy Standings.
