Baseball
The Trinity College baseball team, coached by
Bill Decker, enjoyed an outstanding 2012 season, finishing with a 34-11 record and winning the NESCAC Championship title. The Bantams hosted
the league tournament as the top seed in the NESCA East Division due to a 10-2 division mark,
and breezed through the weekend with a 6-5 win over Williams and a pair of victories against Bowdoin,
14-2, and, 6-0. Trinity qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, which
the Bantams won in 2008 with a record-setting 45-1 final record, after a two-year hiatus, and defeated
Southern Maine, 13-8, and St. Joseph’s (Maine), 6-0, before bowing out with back-to-back losses to eventual champion Wheaton, 6-4 and Western New
England, 2-1, respectively.
