Commentary
Democrat
Obama won the Protestants (including “Other Christians”) and Clinton won
the Catholics; the margin in both cases was 60 percent to 35 percent. The
Protestants, of course, included most of the African-American voters, who
constituted 28 percent of the total. (White Protestants voted for Clinton by
57 percent to 40 percent.) Among the non-Judeo-Christians (nine percent),
Obama received 68 percent; and he won the Nones (those who claim no
religious identity) with 60 percent.
